The Site is located at 210 Buffalo Hollow Road in Berea, Rockcastle County, Kentucky and covers about 13 acres. Lead, PCBs, and arsenic concentrations in surface soil range up to 23,000 ppm, 23 ppm, and 77 ppm, respectively. Arsenic is naturally occurring in this area, though concentrations may be elevated within certain areas.
KDEP has requested assistance from EPA ERRB with this Site. Additionally, the State may conduct further removal activities after completion of EPA removal action in areas where contaminant levels fall below EPA cleanup levels.
