2.1.1 Narrative
Repair and reconstruction of the asbestos-contaminated soils repository was completed at the site. ERRS contractor, START contractor and EPA OSC demobilized site on 10/4 and 10/5/2012.
2.1.2 Response Actions to Date
The 19' high engineered retaining wall was rebuilt in a stable configuration to contain asbestos-contaminated soils. Toe drainage was installed inside of the retaining wall. Additionally, a 25' deep dry well was constructed in the center of the repository, that is designed to handle surface water runoff from the Church parking area and from a geosynthetic liner that was installed over the top of the repository, to mitigate surface water infiltration and saturation of soils behind the retaining wall. An application for registration of the dry well as a shallow storm water injection well was submitted to the Idaho Department of Water Resources.
